Myrrh resin also known as "Malmal" in Somali, is extracted from the Commiphora Myrrha tree which has a number of small thorny branches. We harvest our resins in Northern Somalia which offers the best climate for these trees to grow and maximize the quality of the resin. Myrrh has been used throughout history by our people as an incense and as a natural medicine for skin ailments and other illnesses.
